  2. UNKIND SATURDAY FOR TEAM GRESINI MOTOGP

    Posted on

Bad news first: on one side, Marc Marquez crashes out of the encounter at turn two after having completed only one lap of the sprint race, on the other Alex Marquez finishes eighth following a three-second penalty due to exceeding track limits (and not carrying out the long-lap penalty).

Now, the good news: Marc is uninjured after what was after all a high-speed crash, while Alex spent most of the encounter in the top 5 while showing excellent pace. His fourth place on the grid and his brother’s seventh position still bode well for a much more encouraging Sunday.

    8th - ALEX MARQUEZ #73
“With two laps less, it could have been a whole different result. Joking aside, we struggled a bit towards the end with the rear tyre, but on the other hand we gathered some useful information on the front hard tyre which are important ahead of the full race. Now we need to do some fine tuning and tomorrow we’ll be capable of battling for the top five.”

    DNF – MARC MARQUEZ #93
“It’s never good to make a mistake and crash. The positive note is that I could have hurt myself and that didn’t happen – and I mean especially this morning at turn seven. Too bad for the race because the feeling with the bike was excellent and now we need to get it back during warm up.”

  3. Motorbike Betting Strategies To Consider

    Posted on

Motorbike races are incredibly fascinating to watch since the races are usually very fast with exciting finishes, and also betting on the races is considered exhilarating to match the sport. Motorbike betting requires the application of key strategies in order to increase one’s likelihood of pulling through. Here are some strategic tips to adopt when betting on motorbike races.

    1. Research and Analyse Past Performance

Whenever an event is to be held, ensure that you do your homework and study well to gain an understanding of the racers or teams. Watch past racing performances when studying a rider's record at a particular racetrack, and special attention should be paid to recent races. Racers, for example, practice certain tricks for certain tracks, which means knowing a rider's location and history there is very important.

    2. Consider Weather Conditions  Riding in the rain

Weather plays a significant role in motorbike racing outcomes. Wet or windy conditions can drastically affect a race, making it more challenging and unpredictable. Some riders excel in adverse weather, while others struggle. Always check the weather forecast and consider how different conditions might impact the performance of the racers. This can give you an edge in making more informed bet

    3. Track Knowledge is Crucial

Each race track has unique characteristics, such as varying lengths, surface types, and corner types. Riders who are familiar with a particular track often have a competitive advantage. Pay attention to which riders have extensive experience on the track and their past performance there. This information can be invaluable when predicting race outcomes.

    4. Betting Markets and Odds

Understanding different betting markets is essential. Common betting options include outright winner, podium finish, and fastest lap. Additionally, there are head-to-head bets where you can bet on which of two riders will finish higher. Familiarise yourself with these markets and consider diversifying your bets to spread risk. Keep an eye on the prices provided by different bookmakers, as they can vary, and finding the best odds can maximise your potential returns.

    5. Bet on Each Race

Betting on each race can be advantageous if approached strategically. Any world-recognised online sports betting site would cover all main motorbike competitions around the world, such as MotoGP, Superbike World Championship, and Isle of Man TT. Placing smaller bets on individual races allows you to take advantage of specific insights and conditions relevant to each event. This approach also lessens the risk of significant losses from a single bet going wrong.

    6. Rider Form and Fitness

A rider's current form and fitness levels are critical factors to consider. Injuries, even minor ones, can significantly impact a rider's performance. Keep updated with news regarding riders’ health and recent training performance. Social media and official team updates can provide useful insights into how well-prepared a rider is for the upcoming race.

    7. Team Performance

Motorbike racing is not just about individual riders but also their teams. The bike's quality, the pit crew's effectiveness, and the overall team strategy play vital roles in determining the outcome of a race. Research the teams and their recent performances. Teams that have been consistently performing well are more likely to support their riders effectively, increasing their chances of winning.

    8. Live Betting

Live betting, or in-play betting, permits you to have bets during the race. This can be particularly advantageous as it enables you to respond to real-time developments. If a rider who was a favourite falls behind due to a minor mishap, their odds might lengthen, presenting a potentially profitable opportunity if you believe they can recover.

Betting on motorbike racing can be both exciting and potentially profitable if approached with the right strategies. You can potentially improve your chances of success by conducting thorough research, understanding the influence of weather and track conditions, staying updated on rider and team performance, and utilising various betting markets effectively. Always gamble responsibly and enjoy the race.

  5. D3O congratulates Michael Dunlop on becoming most successful TT rider of all time

    Posted on

The long-standing record of 26 wins at the Isle of Man TT, set by Joey Dunlop, was today broken by his nephew Michael, a D3O supported rider, when he won the Supertwin TT Race 1. This extraordinary achievement cements Michael’s name in the TT annuals and makes him the most successful TT rider of all time.

The Metzeler Supertwin TT Race 1 proved to be a Dunlop masterclass aboard the Paton, as he put in a dominant ride to cross the line 20.406 seconds ahead of his closest competitor. After several schedule changes, competitors and fans were treated to sunny conditions for the three lap race, although the wind was a factor in several sectors of the course, where Dunlop rode at near Supertwin lap record pace.

D3O is proud to have been a part of Michael’s journey since 2017 and to witness the accomplishments that he has achieved throughout the years. The British company, widely considered to be the market leader in impact protection, provides the 35-year-old with custom fitted impact protectors that are tailored to his specific requirements of having something comfortable that protectors to the highest standards, as the Isle of Man TT provides unique challenges with walls, lamp posts and hedges lining the 37.73mile Mountain Course.

Richard Harfoot, Head of Motorsport at D3O

“Huge congratulations to Michael Dunlop on his historic victory at the Isle of Man TT today. His fearless determination inspires us all. As a D3O ambassador he continually pushes the limits of what’s possible and we are incredibly proud to support him. He has made history today and we wish him luck for all the victories that are still ahead of him.”

    Michael Dunlop

“After the disappointment last time I really wanted to make up for it today, it should have been 28. We had an issue on the first night and the boys worked hard to fix it so thanks to them for working all night. I felt good, knew I needed to relax, calm down and just go. The wee bike felt good, although it was windy up there and I’m not the smallest. This is a nice place to be though. I’ve never modelled myself against Joey and I don’t want to be. He was a special talent, and everybody aspires to be him. I’ve broken records but this was a personal thing I wanted to break. That’s the one I’ve always wanted.”

With five races still to run, including the blue riband Senior TT, there is potential for the record to be broken further.
