  1. MARC BOUNCES BACK TO FIFTH PLACE IN MISANO SPRINT RACE

    Posted on

It was a good Saturday on Italian turf for Marc Marquez and Team Gresini Racing MotoGP, with the rider #93 who – after an eventful Q2 – was able to bounce back and finish fifth, scoring valuable points for the championship standings.

It was an ‘endurance’ race for Alex Marquez who was seventh on the grid and eventually ended up just outside the points for a few tenths of a second (10th). The Spanish rider did well in making it through Q1 even though there is still work to do for tomorrow’s race – with the weather that may shuffle the cards.

    5th - MARC MARQUEZ #93
“We ruined our weekend with the qualifying crash. That lap that I did not complete may have placed me on row two and that would have dramatically changed today’s goals. Today we did everything we could and a few good overtakes on a track where it’s really hard to do so. Tomorrow’s encounter will be decided in the opening seconds, as a good start could help us a lot.”

    10th - ALEX MARQUEZ #73
“It wasn’t an easy race, but I must say it was a positive Saturday in which we were able to turn the weekend around a bit thanks to entering Q2 and doing a good qualifying. I made a few mistakes at the beginning of the race, but the pace is not too bad and I think we can battle for the top ten tomorrow.”

  2. MARC IS BACK: HERE COMES THE FIRST RACE WIN

    Posted on

1042 days later, Marc Márquez is back atop the podium for what was the maiden sprint race win of his career. It was a dominant win in what has been so far a perfect weekend for the eight-time world champion, who topped the timesheets in every session – pole position included.

Alex Márquez also had a great race as he crossed the finish line in fourth position and did especially well in swiftly avoiding Pecco Bagnaia at the start. The rider #73 managed to bad some important points, with the whole Gresini team that gets ready for Sunday with a bit of dancing…

    MARC MARQUEZ #93
“We need to enjoy this moment: despite being just a sprint race, today is time for celebration. It has been a tough race and it’ll be even tougher tomorrow especially with regards to tyre management, but we must be happy now. This win, as tiny as it is, is part of the learning curve we’re in.”

    ALEX MARQUEZ #73
“It wasn’t easy at the start. First the mistake by Pecco – which can happen – and then mine that made me lose touch with the podium contenders – as Pedro pulled away. I went wide at turn seven and lost more than a second. The pace is good, but we need to improve the feeling with the track. I think we can be play an important role on the full race distance: I’m not sure we’re podium worthy, but we have what it takes to finish in the top 5."

  3. HIS FUTURE IS LIGHT BLUE: FERMIN ALDEGUER WITH GRESINI RACING MOTOGP

    Posted on

Fermin Aldeguer is the new standard bearer of Team Gresini Racing MotoGP for the next two seasons, with the Faenza-based team also extending their partnership with Ducati for 2026.

The partnership between Gresini Racing and Ducati Corse is tighter than ever, with the recent seasons that brought Bastianini and Marc Márquez to the official team, and Fabio Di Giannantonio scoring his maiden MotoGP win aboard a Desmosedici GP machine. It is now time for Fermín Aldeguer, who has been among the protagonists in the last two Moto2 season, to shine with the squad lead by Nadia Padovani, alongside Alex Márquez, who has already been confirmed for 2025 and 2026.

The (blue) eyes are now set on November 19th for the first official test…

THE GRESINI-DUCATI PARTNERSHIP EXTENDED TO 2026

FERMIN ALDEGUER – GRESINI RACING MOTOGP RIDER
“I’m extremely happy to be joining the Gresini family; this is an incredible opportunity to make my MotoGP debut with the best bike on the grid and with a fantastic team that has had plenty of iconic riders. I hope to get to grips quickly with the GP24: we’ll need to approach it step by step, but I cannot wait for the first test of the new season in Valencia. I’d like to thank Nadia and Gigi for their trust, which will be repaid.”

NADIA PADOVANI GRESINI – TEAM OWNER GRESINI RACING
“Family spirit is the concept our team is based upon, and it applies to our whole world championship history. It’s a great pleasure for us to welcome one of the most promising young talents in the series and our goal will be to protect him and help him make his way to the type of results that distinguish us. He’ll be with us for the next two seasons and Ducati will also stay in our garage until at least 2026. We’ll doubly happy, so welcome to the team Fermín!”

LUIGI DALL’IGNA - DUCATI CORSE GENERAL MANAGER
“We’re very happy to extend our partnership with the Gresini family until 2026. The team led by Nadia Padovani has managed to achieve great goals in recent years while showing all its strength and professionalism. Team Gresini Racing also brought several riders – some of them very young – to winning ways. This is why we’re sure that this is the ideal squad to welcome Fermín Aldeguer and to accompany him in his MotoGP debut season. I’d like to thank once again Nadia and the whole Gresini family. Looking forward to more exciting times together!”

  4. MARC MARQUEZ PUTS UP A SHOW IN AUSTRIA

    Posted on

Team Gresini Racing MotoGP’s Marc Marquez has put up a show in today’s full MotoGP race in Spielberg. The rider #93 had a challenging time at the start with a coming together with Morbidelli, but then made a sensational recovery from 13th to 4th at the finish line. His pace was podium-worthy and his determination second to none, and without that setback things may have gone even better.

A 13-second gap from winner Bagnaia at the chequered flag does not give justice to the performance by the eight time world champion, who will get ready for Aragon with great confidence on his growing potential with his Ducati machine.

Alex Marquez rounded out the top ten as he could not find the right direction this weekend, with the top ten that became the realistic target as the round progressed.

    4th - MARC MARQUEZ #93
“This has been probably the best weekend of the season feeling-wise. Great Friday, excellent qualifying and two ‘easy’ podiums within reach. They didn’t come, yesterday because of a crash and today a few too many little issues especially at the start. Still, we’re leaving Spielberg in good spirits, while hoping the stars will align in order to be even more competitive.”

    10th - ALEX MARQUEZ #73
“Things didn’t go as hoped already from Friday and there’ll be a lot of work to do to be back on the type of form showed in Silverstone. Starting from the middle of the pack made the job difficult to find the right pace, so I focused on finishing the race and score some important points for the championship. Things will be different in Aragon.”

  5. A NIGHTMARE SATURDAY IN AUSTRIA

    Posted on

Team Gresini Racing MotoGP’s Marc and Alex Marquez will need to turn the page on what was an unfortunate performance for both riders in this year’s #AustrianGP sprint race. Alex was the first one to crash as he lost control of his Ducati machine at the first chicane, with a nearly identical tumble by his older brother a few laps later while he was running in second place.

The rider #93 made it back to the pits shortly after, while Alex still managed to make it to the finish line in twentieth place. Both riders are eager to bounce back as a new opportunity awaits them in the full-distance, Sunday encounter in Spielberg. Marc will line up on the front row, while Alex will start the race from row four.

    20th - ALEX MARQUEZ #73
“Not much to say to be honest. After crashing with a couple of corners in, it was all about making it to the finish line. The only good thing is that there’s a new opportunity tomorrow and that I’m not hurt. Unfortunately qualifying didn’t go as planned but we still have a chance for a solid performance.”

    DNF - MARC MARQUEZ #93
“I don’t want to dwell into what happened because we’re in the middle of what has been a solid weekend, up to the turn three crash at least. It’s a shame because I was feeling good on the bike and I wasn’t at the limit. All in all, we’re still confident in our chances for tomorrow’s race, where we’ll try to avoid mistake while being as quick as we can.”
