The FREE to riders safety card which brings the “Ambulance Motorcycle Club” Crash Card initiative to Northern Ireland, supported by the major agencies involved in keeping us safe on the road: PSNI Bikesafe – Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) – Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS).

The free of charge card, is placed inside your helmet as a medical alert, details which you the rider have written on the card, provides vital information for attending ambulance crews or emergency responders if the motorcyclist is injured in a road traffic collision or unable to talk coherently because of concussion or having been knocked out.

To let those attending the scene of a collision know about this vital information the rider places a sticker on the outside of the helmet, on the right hand side (NOT on the visor or other attachments), indicating that a rider or pillion is carrying a safety card inside the lining of their helmet.

So only 15 minutes from the centre of Belfast Davys Bikes is worth a visit to experience friendly knowledgeable staff with plenty of bargains to be had, with a fully operational workshop for all your motorcycle’s servicing needs, get along and get a card!

    Depart Ace Cafe: 10.30am
    Route: A406 - A13 - M25 - A2 - M2 - A299 to Margate seafront

The 7th annual Margate Meltdown is the most recently established of Ace Cafe London's free to attend major ride outs.

The ride out from the cafe to this popular seaside resort in Kent has been held each year on occasion of the annual Spring Bank Holiday. Margate seafront and harbour is given over to motorcycles and scooters, diverse club and trade stands, a stage with live entertainment from Noon,
featuring on the Ace stage the semi-acoustic sounds of The Elbeats, together with rockin' DJ's Bill & George Guntrip.

Working closely with the cafe's chosen charity for this event, The Royal British Legion Riders Branch (RBLRB), the town and Thanet District Council, Margate not only has everything that a great ride out requires, but also a great beach and plenty of heritage to include a legacy from the 1960s that is of world renown relating to motorbikes, scooters and the Mods & Rockers that rode them!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the infamous Mods & Rockers clashes of 1964!

David Cretney MHK, Political Member for Tourism and Motorsport commented:‘Prior to my appointment, the Department picked out a number of well attended events around the Isle of Man and are adding to the TT entertainment to further enhance them. This not only means that the events are better attended but also that more of the Island's towns will get to experience the benefits of the official TT festival. I am committed to reviewing the quality and range of entertainment in Douglas and elsewhere to help us continue to improve it in future years.’

Andy Gregorek, Managing Director of event organisers Gorilla said: ‘TT Mayhem has become an intrinsic part of the two week, fun-packed festival that includes live music, stunt shows and family fun days out. This year we were asked to look at creating something that had the same impact over a wider area. By taking our TT Mayhem show on the road we can engage with more people and will be tailoring our show to suit each venue.’

You decide where to start, and how to get to the finish. Motorcyclists from across the country will be completing quirky challenges, set by Ross Noble, as they make their way to the offices of MCN in Peterborough.

Participants will plan their own route to Peterborough – the only condition is that they arrive at the MCN office at 3pm and complete as many challenges as possible!

As riders head to the final destination, Ross Noble will be using Twitter to send a series of challenges for them to complete using the hashtag #lastmileride. As they complete their challenges and share their snaps on Twitter, Ross will be keeping an eye out for his favourite and awarding prizes for the very best.

Ross Noble said, "I’m really excited to be launching an event that brings the whole motorcycling community together to do something they love whilst helping Riders for Health. I’ve supported Riders for a number of years and the thing we all like about their work is that it is a simple, straightforward solution that is having a visible impact in Africa. I want to get hundreds of bikers involved from across the whole country. It would be amazing for groups of riders to meet up as they get closer to Peterborough."

Registration for the Last Mile Ride costs £30 for a rider and £15 for a pillion and includes entry to all events at the final destination as well as food and a Last Mile Ride visibility vest. Riders can sign up to the ride individually, or can gather some friends for a group ride-out. Participants can also fundraise for the ride, with fantastic prizes available for the groups and individuals who raise the most money.

All of the money raised from the event will help Riders for Health ensure health workers in Africa have access to reliable, well maintained motorcycles and ambulances so that they can continue to deliver life-saving health care to 14 million people.
