True to Colin Chapman’s famous words “Simplify, then add lightness”, Italian Vins Motors produce ultra-light two-stroke, entirely hand-made motorcycles where the artisan work match the most advanced techniques. Join us at the Ace Cafe on the 9th of January as they present their Duecinquanta Strada UK homologated, an ambitious motorcycle which is a summary of innovation and tradition, aiming to achieve the best performances and be the lightest super sport motorcycle in the world! Designed to be at the highest level, the Duecinquanta road version is a unique combination of unconventional solutions: from the carbon fiber monocoque chassis to the alternative front and rear suspensions scheme, where every single component is optimized to carry more than one function. Special guest on the night is Mike 'Spike' Edwards who has raced every single year since 1982, with multi British Championship titles, an FIM Euro championship title, wins on the 'pure roads' at the Macau GP, and NorthWest 200! Come and join Ace Cafe London celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Oldsmobile Rocket 88. The car launched in 1949 was soon the car to beat. Together with the success of Ike Turners 1951 recording (by Sam Phillips) in Memphis of his song Rocket 88, this is considered by many to not only be the first muscle car, but also the first rock and roll record! It changed everything…. The hurricane of sounds that swept across the Atlantic in the 1950’s caused a flowering of enthusiasm for rhythmic music both in its American form as well as its British offshoot. The Ace Cafe was there – bikes, cars, and rock ’n roll. This month’s regular All-American Cruise-In features DJ Jimmy Guntrip’s free to attend Halloween “Shock n’ Roll” Rhythm n’ Cruise Rockin’ Record Hop, from 7pm – 11pm on Saturday 26th October . Halloween prizes will be up for grabs at the Ace along with copies of Vintage Rock and UK Rock n’ Roll magazines. A pair of tickets for the Classic Motor Show & the Classic Motorbike Show, held at NEC Birmingham 8th to 10th November are also to be won , and ( thanks to the publisher Mortons, ) a subscription to Classic American magazine! Prizes will be awarded for children and adults wearing the best costumes, and for the best “dressed” cars. Spend £5 or more over the counter from 6pm and receive a raffle ticket. Draw to be held at 10pm Listen, revel and be immersed in a mix of the best rock and roll and rockabilly, blended with the London sub-culture sounds, broadcasting 24/7 on online radio and social media.
4pm – 11pm Saturday 26th October

Celebrate the historic 60th Anniversary of the 59 Club with the official 59 Club CD album release from Veetone Records, featuring 30 rock n roll classics and rarities, all originally issued on UK labels in the 1950’s and early 60’s. When the Reverend Bill Shergold rode his motorbike across London in 1962 to the iconic Ace Cafe, he had one goal in mind, to try and entice some likeminded motorcyclists to join his youth club based in Hackney. Little did he realise that he was laying the foundations for what was to become the largest and most famous motorcycle club in the world! The 30 track CD album features 30 original recordings by artists including Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Duffy Power, Jack Scott, Frankie Ford, Johnny Carroll, Dion, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley, Carl Perkins, Tommy Sands, Billy Fury, Vince Taylor plus many more. This is the soundtrack of the Ton Up era, the subsequent Rocker culture, and of the establishing of the club that welcomed motorcyclists, the now legendary, 59 Club! Available from Friday 6th September 2019, as part of the annual Ace Cafe Reunion, at the cafe and on-line (+ P&P) Soon to feature on Ace Cafe Radio
