  1. Scooter Sunday 31st March at the Ace - Do you have photographs of your youth?

    YOUTH CLUB, Museum of Youth Culture are looking to tell the story of UK youth culture from the '50s Teds to the present day, and need your photographs, ephemera and stories to help build the most accurate picture of what it was and what it is like to be young in Britain.

    Whether you have one photograph or a whole archive, bring them along to the Scooter Day at the Ace Cafe on Sunday March 31st, from 12pm-5pm. They will scan your photographs while you wait and you will walk away with a high-res digital copy and become a historic part of the Museum of Youth Culture.
     
    YOUTH CLUB is a Heritage Funded non-profit organisation working to preserve, share and celebrate youth and subculture history, working towards opening the Museum of Youth Culture.

  2. Overland & Adventure Bike Day at Ace Cafe‏

    Come and join in the cafe’s forthcoming annual Overland & Adventure Bike Day 9am to 5pm on Sunday 24th March.

    An all-day affair, it will include a host of intrepid travellers, amongst whom will be Matt Bishop and Reece Gilkes who, on the 21st October 2017, set off from the cafe and successfully circumnavigated the globe on a scooter with a sidecar, “As Seen from The Sidecar”, to raise awareness of various human rights abuses around the globe. The route from London’s North Circular Road took the guys through over 35 countries, 5 continents and clocked up an epic 34,000 miles!

     Stands and displays include Globe Busters (who depart the Ace early morning on 20.4.19 on their way to Ace Cafe Beijing!),The Trail Riders Fellowship, Shippio and Overland Magazine, with more yet to be confirmed.

    Special guests invited include the renowned travel authors Sam Manicom, Derek Mansfield and Austin Vince, amongst others, who will be delighted to share their tips and advice.


    There are also prizes up for grabs, courtesy of those attending the day. Spend £5 or more over the counter at the cafe from 9am to receive a raffle ticket.

  3. Ace Women – International Women’s Day Weekend!

    14,000+ Women Await the Start of the First Female Motorbike Relay Across The World
     
    ‘Women Riders World Relay’ Marks Launch on International Women's Day weekend’at Ace Cafe London: 
    Started as an idea to attempt a relay around the world led by women on motorbikes founder, Hayley Bell, shared it on social media in late August last year, and is has snowballed into a movement spanning over 100 countries across the world. As of today, over 14,000 women worldwide have responded to her call to show the industry the force behind the female biker market.
      
    ‘Women Riders World Relay’ (WRWR), starting on 27th February 2019 from John O’Groats, Scotland and continues across the world over the next 12 months via a baton being passed from woman to woman, country to country. The route across the UK and Ireland is taking place over 12 days and has already inspired and motivated over 200 women participants, known as Guardians, to carry the hand-carved baton across the first stretch of the relay to the Ace.
          
    To mark the launch of the relay in the UK and to participate in the momentus global campaign, WRWR are hosting two events on International Women’s Day weekend.
     
    ● WRWR have partnered with the renowned Ace Cafe in London to host the official WRWR launch event on Saturday 9th March . The relay will stop by the Cafe in the afternoon and a range of inspirational female speakers from the motorbike industry are lined up throughout the day to celebrate and unite women.
     
    ● The relay will begin the final day in the UK on Sunday 10th March at Sittingbourne Speedway where WRWR have organised a hands-on, off road motorbike experience for all attendees. The relay and baton will leave that afternoon to make their way to the next country, France.
     
    Gear up and show your support by attending the events being hosted. Everybody is welcome to come and celebrate the launch of Women Riders World Relay.

  5. Ace Cafe London Xmas Toy Run‏

    Departs the Ace at 10.30am

    The cafe's annual Christmas Toy Run into central London departs at 10.30am on Sunday 16th December, visiting two hospitals.

    As always, any surplus gifts will be distributed to various children's homes and groups.
    Please bring gifts that are unwrapped.

    Because of allergies hospitals advise against stuffed toys and sweets - the nursing staff however may appreciate some sweeties!

    On returning to the cafe, there will be prizes for the "Best Dressed Bike" and the "Best Dressed Rider" - and a hot cuppa!

    The cafe opens at 7.30am on the morning of the run. Please check in at the cafe on arrival with “Santa and his helpers”, who once again are kindly looking after the logistics involved with this special occasion.
