From Duncan - My personal and exclusive Guided Tours are each unique, designed for the bikes, the participants and the time of the year. I have Spanish Public Liability as a Tour Guide, some operators do not bother with any guiding insurance. My tours are NOT package. We explore the history, geography, fauna and flora and discover the REAL IBERIA of the BACK ROADS. I do not take more than 6 bikes and we do not do excessive mileage because we are exploring the wonders of Iberia, it is what you see not the number of miles. Pillions get a 75% discount on my fee. With 40 years of travelling the back roads of Spain and Portugal I estimate I have covered around 100,000 km, mostly on my Moto Guzzi motos. My experiences are used to inform my guidebooks of which I have 10 published and in designing my bespoke Guided Tours and Self-guided itineraries.
Interested participants are asked to fill in and return a questionnaire and after further discussions, an expert guide will design and price your tour. This puts you in control of the sorts of things you do each day, the type of accommodation, distance and time spent travelling, and the regions visited. We want you to have an adventure that is unique to you. How are the tours priced? From the Tour Itinerary, we calculate our costs of; fuel, accommodation, food, and daily guiding fee. This principal cost is then divided by the number of participants to give the individual fee. We do not make any extra income by receiving commissions from any hotel or venue. If there is a discount available for a group booking the savings will be passed directly to you! You are responsible for your own expenses. Our tours are competitively priced against the normal ‘packaged’ tours BUT ours are tailored to you and your abilities and interests. Example guided tour price - 10 days covering between 1,000-1,500 miles. Great roads and scenery, food and hotels. At least one ‘rest day’ in an interesting small city or town. £800 - £1,200. Daily mileage is unlikely to exceed 150 miles and will normally be between 100 and 120 miles. We will travel the back roads with plenty of stops for refreshments or visit sites of interest in small villages or towns off the beaten track. The tour outlines are often themed to provide that extra experience. Frequently a Guided Tour begins with a group or an individual asking me whether I could do a tour between certain dates and/or to certain places.
