Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) has announced that the current King of the Jungle and seven times World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty will lead an expected 3,000 strong biker ride-out to officially kick-off the 5th Bike4Life Fest on Sunday 26 April 2015.
Carl is personally appealing for riders across the region to register and join him on the 23 mile motorbike procession from Shrewsbury to the RAF Museum Cosford near Wolverhampton, the prestigious home to the Bike4Life Festival – a major annual fundraising event in MAAC’s calendar.
Last year more than 8,000 bikers, friends, family and enthusiasts from all across the UK took part in what has become one of the biggest and best biker events in the country. The event is partnered with RAF Museum Cosford and the Safer Roads Partnership to raise awareness of biker safety.
Commenting on his involvement, Carl Fogarty said: “I jumped at the chance to get involved with Bike4Life Fest 2015 to help support and raise awareness of the life-saving work of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. This service is a vital lifeline for bikers with over 40% of the incidents the aircrew responds to being road traffic collisions, which sadly often involve bikers. It’s going to be a great honour to lead out the 3,000 strong bikers and I’d urge anyone who wants to be part of the event to kick start the motorcycle season to sign up.”
With arena displays, stalls, exhibitions and biker tutorials, the Bike 4 Life Festival promises to be a great day out for bikers, families and the local community. Live music will be staged by radio station Planet Rock 105.2FM, showcasing the best in Midlands music talent.
Jason Levy, fundraising and marketing director for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Bike4Life Fest has grown year on year and Carl Fogarty’s support of the event is fantastic and will undoubtedly make it our best year yet. We have a great relationship with the biking community, and as well as being a great day out, Bike4Life Fest also aims to raise vitally important funds for our life saving service, so I’d encourage anyone thinking of getting involved, to support our event and register now for the Ride Out.”
While the Ride Out is just £5, all visitors to the Festival will also gain free access to the RAF Museum Cosford.

Entrance to the Bike4Life Festival is free, however, organisers would like all visitors to make a donation to the charity at the event.

The organisers of Motorcycle Live, the UK’s biggest motorcycle show, have announced that the 2015 event will take place one week later than originally planned, opening at its usual venue of The NEC, Birmingham on Saturday 28 November and closing on Sunday 6 December.
The decision comes following confirmation that the EICMA exhibition in Milan has moved from its usual early-November slot to later in the month, thus clashing with the planned dates for Motorcycle Live. EICMA is traditionally where the world’s leading motorcycle manufacturers unveil their new model launches, many of which are then shipped to Birmingham to make their UK debut, meaning that visitors to Motorcycle Live are amongst the first in the world to see the new machinery in the metal.
“If we had maintained our traditional slot of the last two weeks of November, it would have been logistically impossible for manufacturers to ship their new models to The NEC in time for the opening day of the show,” explains Motorcycle Live organiser Finlay McAllan. “This would ultimately mean that UK motorcycle fans would miss out on the opportunity to see the new models so soon after launch. For that reason we have decided to move Motorcycle Live 2015 back one week."
Motorcycle Live 2015 will take place at The NEC, Birmingham from 28 November to 6 December. Tickets will go on sale in August 2015.

THE newly branded Putoline Classic Dirt Bike Show is ramping up the celebrations for 2015 as its new owner brings together exhibits and star guests marking some of off-road and road racing’s most memorable moments.
The event, held at Telford’s International Centre, takes place across the weekend of February 21-22 with highlights including 40th anniversary celebrations of both Martin Lampkin being crowned world trials champion and Mick Grant claiming his second of seven TT wins, a race in which he beat Mike Hailwood’s long-standing lap record.
Mick, who is the event’s guest of honour, will be in attendance throughout – chatting with showgoers, presenting the show’s awards and speaking at the Classic Dirt Bike dinner on the Saturday evening.
Leading off-road motorcycle journalist Tim Britton said: “With his glittering career as a road racer, trials rider, development engineer and raconteur, Mick Grant has spent most of his life at the sharp end of motorcycle sport.
“He’s also been a team manager and rider manager and has picked up a wealth of tales from the road racing and trials scene. He’ll provide much value as a guest of honour and it’ll be a real treat for visitors to the show who get to rub shoulders with him.”
What has since become known as the Manx Decade of International Six Days’ Trials will also be remembered with 2015 marking 50 years since the first ISDT on the Isle of Man and 40 since the last.
Following on the Manx theme, a display of racing Nortons through the ages will form part of a special exhibit from the National Motorcycle Museum which will showcase the marque’s rich history on the Island.
A series of luminaries from the off-road world, including Bill Brown and Sammy Miller, will also be in attendance along with road racing stars Olie Linsdell and his father Steve – the latter being a TT rostrum man. The Linsdells will be at the show as part of the new Classic Racer Paddock where visitors can witness the roar of famous race machines, the highlights of which are a TT winning Works Patton and the world’s fastest Royal Enfield.
An ex-John McGuinness 2000 TT Vimto Honda SP1 and a 1996 Terry Rymer Old Spice Ducati 955, both part of Mike West’s collection, are also set to appear.
Throw in several halls packed with stunning display machines, superb club exhibits and all manner of trade and autojumble stands and this popular Telford weekend looks set to deliver once again.
Event planner Richard Graham commented: “As new organisers of the Putoline Classic Dirt Bike Show we are working closely with former owner Alan Wright to ensure that all the usual elements that everyone loves are included while also aiming to bring our own brand of excitement to proceedings.
“The addition of the racing paddock should do exactly that and there are so many important anniversaries in motorcycle history to celebrate.
“It’s going to be a top weekend for all two-wheel enthusiasts.”

The 5th annual Prescott Bike Festival, Sunday 12th April 2015 is promising to be their best yet. The organisers tell us they want to bring you stuff you can’t normally see, things you can’t normally do, Paddock Specials Show ‘n’ Tell, a host of trade stands, Dealer Zone, entertainment, great food, live music – all set in one of the most relaxed venues we know.
It certainly looks like they’re going to deliver – again. If you’ve never been before, this is a ‘Must Do’ day out for all motorcycling enthusiasts. If you’re quick, you can even book a place to ride the famous Prescott Hill yourself, and be part of the spectacle.
There’s a fantastic line up of riders already secured including; fresh from the jungle, and ITV I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, is four times World Superbike Champion, Carl Fogarty. He’ll be joined by three times British Superbike Champion John Reynolds and the likes of adventurer Nick Sanders, former racer, and current MotoGP pundit and all round joker Steve Parrish, David Hailwood, the all new Be Wiser Kawasaki BSB Team, Chris Hodgson, Richard Cooper, Shaun Winfield, Dan Cooper, Josh Day, rising stars of Moto3, Charlie Nesbitt and Joe Thompson and more.
Not only will you get to see rare modern and classic motorcycles but watch them Run the iconic Hill; “better than Goodwood”, said one excited visitor last year. There’s too many to list, but we’ve picked out just a couple; Carl Fogarty’s WSBK winning Ducati, Carlos Checa’s MotoGP Ducati, a very rare Magni Australia, an even rarer Manx Norton experimental 350cc and the list goes on; around 100 rare, special motorcycles that you can get close up and personal with.
Aside from the on track action, there will be a large display of rare historic, modern and race bikes on display in the paddock, motorcycle manufacturers, clubs, demo areas, passenger ride experiences, celebrity appearances, trade stalls, live music, and a whole raft of entertainment both on and off the track to keep you entertained throughout the day.
We nearly forgot to mention, all proceeds from the Festival goes to support the Blood Bike charities too, keeping them on the road.
