To highlight the summer season for motorcycle tours and adventures, Ducati are launching from immediate effect, promotions on all Multistrada variants.*
The promotion encompasses a £1000 deposit contribution towards a new Multistrada 1200 or a Ducati Performance Voucher worth a retail value of £1000.
For those wishing to tour the UK, Europe or further afield a £1000 Performance voucher could be spent on the numerous accessory packages available. These include a touring pack which includes 58 litre panniers, centre stand and heated grips or for those wishing to take a more adventurous route on a Multistrada 1200 Enduro it may be the enticement of an Enduro pack, this includes engine protection bars, radiator shield, sump guard, off road footpegs, auxillary LED lights and larger sidestand foot.
Alternatively the Performance voucher can be used to kit yourself out in the latest Ducati apparel and safety equipment. New for this season is the Strada Gore-Tex Jacket and Trouser set, Strada Tour helmet by Arai and newly redesigned Corse one or two piece leather suits as well as Ducati branded boots and gloves.
*The £1000 deposit contribution can be used on all variants which include Multistrada 1200, Multistrada 1200 S, Multistrada 1200 S D|Air. Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak and Multistrada 1200 Enduro. The contribution can also be used in conjunction with Ducati TriOptions finance with a Multistrada 1200 available from £149 per month.

RAF Brize Norton was the location for the official handover of ten Ducati Multistrada 1200 motorcycles to BikeSafe, a police led initiative to reduce the number of motorcyclists involved in accidents on the road by improving skills, knowledge and hazard awareness. The location was also chosen to highlight BikeSafe’s partnership with the RAF that will involve the police putting an estimated 2,500 motorcycle riding RAF personnel through the workshops.
The Multistrada 1200 was chosen by BikeSafe after an extensive evaluation process and deemed to be the most suitable motorcycle to assist the various forces throughout the UK to deliver the BikeSafe workshops, feature at shows, events and bike meets.
The purchase of the bikes is funded by Highways England, which is responsible for 4000 miles of England’s motorways and major A routes. Highways England has seen the results and benefits of the BikeSafe project and sees improving rider skills as one way of achieving its aims to reduce rider casualties on its road network.
Ducati UK along with the motorcycle industry has been an important supporter to the BikeSafe project regularly loaning its bikes to them in police livery for use at shows, race meetings and bike meets. Ducati motorcycles that BikeSafe have used in the past has included, a 1299 Panigale, a Scrambler, a Diavel and for this year the new SuperSport.
Assistant Chief Constable Nick Adderley the National Police Chiefs Council lead for BikeSafe said “We are delighted by the recognition and direct support that BikeSafe has received from Highways England, a national body that is working in partnership with BikeSafe to reduce motorcycle casualties. This has enabled BikeSafe to purchase this fantastic fleet of Ducati motorcycles.,These exciting and dynamically engaging bikes will be used for BikeSafe engagement and education of motorcyclists across the country, as well as keeping our service personnel safe through our partnership with the RAF.”

Proud to celebrate its 90th anniversary together with its fans, Ducati has decided to make this milestone a memorable one with a volume containing a photographic record of the company's history, illustrating that attention to style and design for which Ducati has always been so renowned.
“Stile Ducati. A visual history of Ducati Design” published by Skira (Milan - Italy, 2016) is a true collector's volume, an evocative story told trough images, a sequence of unique shots that highlight the aesthetic value and the design of Ducati motorcycles.
The volume traces the evolution of Ducati design through 19 steps: from the Cucciolo to the 916 and on to the 1299 Panigale S Anniversario. This unique book exalts the beauty, purity and sheer strength of Ducati style which, together with sophistication and performance, illustrate the brand's core values.
“Every one of our bikes must show it has a full share of Ducati DNA. It must have sports style; it has to ooze adrenalin, power, fluidity and technology. At the same time, its design must be pure and essential, capable of communicating lightness while ensuring high performance and off-the-scale riding fun. A design that sends an at-a-glance shiver down the spine, a taste of what's to come when you ride it” says Andrea Ferraresi, the Ducati Desing Center Director.
All aspects of this book have been designed and developed internally, from the concept to the photographic style and narrative. It is a large-format, high quality book of 336 pages containing over 150 photos by Giovanni De Sandre, whose outstanding professionalism has captured the stunning allure of every Ducati-designed line.
The photos are close-ups of the selected bikes. A sequence of unique shots highlighting the captivating beauty of Ducati motorcycles, showcased like real works of art. At the end of each chapter there is a full photo of the motorcycle: irresistible images with a black backdrop to bring out the key lines and the sheer beauty of the bike's shape. Each chapter includes a brief description of the motorcycle, key aspects of its development and the relative historical context.
Lastly, the photographic narrative is interspersed with statements showing how Ducati sees design. «Our bikes transmit the same tension, concentration and power that sculpt the body of a 100-metre sprinter on the starting blocks» and «Ducati style stands out because it's found in every single component, even the least visible» are just two of the citations included in the book.
To close, the volume dedicates two pages to key moments in Ducati's history and has a descriptive index of the images.

Ducati Globetrotter 90th is now in its final exciting phase. Having started in Borgo Panigale on 4 July, the around the world voyage on the Multistrada 1200 Enduro will come to a close on 15 December, with the bike returning to its starting point at the Italian manufacturer’s Bologna-based HQ.
The seventh and final globetrotter is Germany’s Timo Schäfer, who began his journey from the Isle of Man on 5 December. During this last stage of Globetrotter 90th, Schäfer will cover the remaining two thousand kilometres of this incredible adventure, which has involved 30,000 km of riding to some of the symbolic sites that have contributed to the first ninety years of Ducati’s history.
Timo Schäfer, from Karlsruhe in Germany, is 30 years old. A mechanical engineering student, his first motorcycle was a Cagiva Elephant with a Ducati engine. Today a smiling Schäfer confirms: “Clearly Ducati was my destiny all along!” During the final phase of Globetrotter 90th, Schäfer will stop in the city of Canterbury to meet with Paul Smart, who starred in what Ducati considers the most significant win of its history. On 23 April 1972, the first Imola 200 Miles was in fact won by a young, unknown Smart, riding the standard 750 GT; Bruno Spaggiari crossed the line in second place, with the same bike.
Then it’s on to Belgium, where the seventh globetrotter will visit the Spa - Francorchamps racetrack where, in 1958, Alberto Gandossi won on board the 125 Desmo. Timo Schäfer will then continue on to Germany and once in Bavaria, he will visit the Audi Museum in Ingolstadt that, up until 30 April 2017, will house the "More Than Red - Passione Ducati" exhibition, celebrating the motorcycle manufacturer’s 90th anniversary. Lastly, the return to Italy, and to Monza, where long ago on 30 November 1958, the futuristic Ducati Siluro, with a mere 100cc displacement, set 44 world speed records. There is no doubt that Timo Schäfer’s planned meeting with Santo Ciceri, one of the heroes of that day in the late ‘50s, will be a moving one.
After this, Schäfer will head to Florence to see Giuliano Maoggi, born in 1926 and a living legend for Ducati. In 1956, Maoggi won the 4th Motogiro d’Italia on the Gran Sport 100, known as the Marianna, designed by Fabio Taglioni. Having crossed the renowned Futa Pass, the Multistrada 1200 Enduro will arrive in Borgo Panigale on 15 December, thus concluding the epic Globetrotter 90th voyage.
Before the torch and Multistrada were passed on to the German, the final globetrotter, they were entrusted to Englishman Hugo Wilson. The Brit left Lisbon on 17 November and travelled day and night in all conditions, covering almost two thousand kilometres across Portugal, Spain and France before boarding the ship at St. Malo. Having crossed the Channel, Wilson arrived home, where the Multistrada 1200 Enduro was exhibited at Motorcycle Live in Birmingham, Britain’s biggest motorcycle show. Straight after this, the globetrotter travelled to Silverstone, because it was here that Mike Hailwood won two races in two different classes – both on a Ducati - on the same day in 1960. At Donington, the World Superbike temple, Hugh Wilson relived Ducati’s SBK wins right from the very first race of the first championship, or rather 3 April 1988 with Marco Lucchinelli on the newborn 851 SBK.
Lastly, on the Isle of Man, Wilson met with the seventh globetrotter Timo Schäfer. The baton was passed on here because the Isle of Man is a truly evocative setting. Long ago, on 2 June 1978, during the demanding Tourist Trophy, Mike Hailwood, who was 38 at the time and had already retired from racing, scored a victory with the Ducati 900 SS TT IOM that deeply moved the 300,000 spectators, a feat that Ducati would celebrate the following year with the birth of the legendary 900 Mike Hailwood Replica.

Cologne (Germany), 4 October 2016 – Ducati took advantage of the special press-only day at INTERMOT 2016 to unveil the first of a series of new bikes for 2017. At the Cologne motorcycle fair, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali took to the stage to present the SuperSport, the company's latest sport road bike.
“I'm extremely proud to be able to reveal the latest Ducati 2017 bikes, starting with the SuperSport”, stated Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali at the bike's unveiling. “After sharing a sneak peek with the Ducatista community at WDW 2016, we're ready to present the bike to the thousands of enthusiasts who had eagerly awaited a sport bike capable of ensuring both fun and comfort, even in everyday riding situations. Expert riders will appreciate the true sports personality of the SuperSport, its excellent road performance and evident penchant for journeying and everyday use. Riders approaching the Ducati sports world for the first time will discover versatility, easy handling and, above all, the very essence of sports riding as Ducati sees it." Mr. Domenicali then looked ahead to EICMA 2016: “Next month, during the Ducati World Première - to be held on 7 November and streamed live across the globe - we'll reveal the other bikes being launched by Ducati this coming year, thus completing the range and, we can confidently say, meeting many of the needs and wants of the riders in our community and those who, thanks to these latest machines, will soon be joining it”.

A lean and mean road machine with a decidedly approachable feel thanks to easy handling, the confidence-inspiring Ducati Safety Pack (Bosch ABS + Ducati Traction Control), the awesome price-quality ratio of the equipment and the long maintenance intervals.
Powering the SuperSport is a twin-cylinder 937 cm³ Testastretta 11° engine, delivering 113 hp and a full yet linear torque curve. Thanks to the three Riding Modes (Sport, Touring and Urban), the SuperSport's temperament can be adapted to maximise enjoyment whatever the riding conditions. Agile on city streets, comfortable on the motorway and superlative on twisting country roads, the SuperSport is super-versatile. Relaxed rider and passenger positions, good airflow deflection from the height-adjustable screen and the mileage provided by the 16-litre fuel tank also make the new Ducati SuperSport a cool companion on medium-distance rides.
The SuperSport range includes a SuperSport S version featuring fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, the Ducati Quick Shift up/down system and a rear seat cover: the latter are also available as accessories for the SuperSport.
The Supersport will be available in the UK priced at £10,995, £12,295 for Supersport S in red and £12495 for the Supersport S in Silk White.
The new SuperSport is displayed on the Ducati stand (Hall 8 Stand A42/50) together with other new 2017 bikes such as the Monster 821 EURO 4, now available in the new “Dust Grey”, and the Diavel EURO 4. Other all-new developments include the “Volcano Grey” colour for the Multistrada 1200 S, on which technical upgrades have been introduced, and the 1299 Panigale, which now features a new EVO electronics package featuring Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC).
Ducati is at INTERMOT in Hall 8 on Stand A42/50 together with the Ducati Scrambler brand and its "Land of Joy". The Ducati Scrambler stand features teasers for two new developments set to go on show at EICMA.
