  1. The renowned auction house is revving up the excitement for lovers of classic motorbikes with a stunning lineup of vintage two-wheeled bikes up for bid. 

    Legendary motorbikes are set to go under the hammer at The Bristol Classic MotorCycle Show taking place February 24-25 at The Royal Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet. From the elegant to the eccentric, this auction will feature over 100 classic and collectors' bikes going under the gavel. 

    Dore & Rees unmatched reputation for finding quality lots ensure this auction offers something for everyone. Whether you are an avid collector, a history buff, or just a classic bike enthusiast, Dore & Rees will be auctioning off some of the best bikes the South West has to offer.

    The Bristol Classic MotorCycle Show is an annual event that brings together thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts, collectors, and club members from all over the world. The event also offers one of the earliest chances of the year for visitors to stock up on classic parts, spares, accessories, and riding gear for the season ahead. It's a popular date on the motorcycling event calendar, attended by more than 16,000 like-minded enthusiasts every year.  

    Discounted tickets are on sale for the show, with a one-day adult pass costing just £15.00. Tickets will also be available on the gate at £18.00 – youngsters aged 16 and under get free admission. Free parking is available on site.    

     

  2. Back by popular demand is the first of the season’s British Motor Museum Late events for Autumn 2023. The Museum will host an exclusive opportunity for visitors to look around the Collections Centre at a special evening on Tuesday 14 November from 5:30pm. 

    Visitors will have 3 hours to explore the 4,500m2 building which holds over 200 cars from the British Motor Museum and Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust’s collections. The building houses some of the oldest British cars,  sports cars and one-off prototypes, some of which won’t be found anywhere else in the world.    

    A selection of these stunning vehicles will have bonnets, boots and doors opened so visitors can see more of the cars than they would during normal opening hours. The doors to the Workshop will also be open allowing visitors to see a side of the Museum not normally accessible to the public. Visitors can also meet the Curator of the British Motor Museum and the Vehicle Collection Manager of the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust who will be hosting “What’s in the Workshop” talks outlining the cars currently being repaired or restored. Staff and volunteers will also be on hand to share their invaluable knowledge on the range of cars.

    Dinner is included on the Museum Gallery on arrival with a choice of Beef & Ale Pie or Sweet Potato, Chestnut Mushroom and Spinach Wellington followed by Treacle Sponge Pudding or Apple Crumble.

    Jeff Coope, Managing Director at the British Motor Museum said “We’re delighted to be hosting our first Late evening this Autumn to give visitors a rare opportunity to see the Collections Centre and a ‘behind the scenes’ insight into how we store and preserve our stunning collection of vehicles.”

    Tickets cost £18 each or £13 for Members. Premium Members can attend the event for just £7. As this event is outside normal Museum opening hours Annual Passes are not valid.   3. For adventure and city: the side bag Endurance Black
    Welded from ultra-busy 660 g/m2 plastic-coated fabric, the Endurance combines durability with soft handling. Internal reinforcements keep the bag in perfect shape even when partially filled. The roll closure, with which the volume can be infinitely varied, does the rest. As a member of the Waterproof by Touratech product family, it goes without saying that the Endurance is waterproof. The cooperation with the textile specialist Vaude means that the materials used in the Endurance are free of harmful substances and largely made from sustainably produced raw materials. A quality product „Made in Germany“. 
    With a tare weight of only 2.16 kilograms ready for assembly, the Endurance offers a volume of 30 litres per bag. This means that enough luggage can be stowed even for longer tours. Adventure riders have always appreciated the advantages of soft luggage anyway. After all, the risk of injury in the field is lower than with a rigid pannier system, and dents and scratches are also not an issue. 
    But more and more urban riders swear by textile luggage solutions. When meandering through the city, the small width quickly pays off, and such a softback can also be casually slung over the shoulder and taken to the office.
     

    Easy handling thanks to quick release fastener
    The quick-release fastener automatically engages when the bag is attached and can be unlocked again with a flick of the wrist. In between, it fixes the docking panel - and thus the side bag - to the carrier without play and bombproof. The optionally available locks complete the range of functions and enable locking with other lockable Touratech products.
    The docking panel is an integral part of the bag according to the sandwich principle. It forms a stable rear wall and ensures that the bag is firmly and comfortably locked to the carrier.

    Let’s go…ride to Motorcycle Live with Completely Motorbikes!

    Join the official ride-in to Motorcycle Live on Saturday 18th November from Completely Motorbikes with riders including BSB stars, Jason O’Halloran and Max Cook.

    Starting off at the Completely Motorbikes showroom in Hinckley at 8am, participating riders will be treated to live star-studded interviews with the newly-unveiled Completely Motorbikes Kawasaki FS-3 Racing BSB team, and treated to a free burger* and hot drink.

    After a full briefing by the route organisers and marshals from Warwickshire and West Midlands Training School, riders will begin the journey to the UK’s biggest and most interactive motorcycle show.

    Upon arrival at the NEC, Birmingham, free bike parking will be provided in the indoor Honda Bike Park, so all that’s left to do is get out your pre-booked tickets to the show and enjoy a great day out!

  5. IN THE BATTLE FOR THE PODIUM, ESPARGARÓ IN THE MIX ALL THE WAY TO THE CHEQUERED FLAG


    The final lap of the MotoGP Sprint Race thrilled the numerous and lively Thai fans with a battle fought all the way to the chequered flag between Aleix and Marc Marquez. The Aprilia riding Spaniard, after starting from the third spot on the grid, had built up a good gap ahead of his compatriot and was pushing to make a play for the third step of the podium, provisionally occupied by Marini. Unfortunately, the gap was reset when he went wide and, between passes and counter-passes, he wound up in fifth place. However, the feeling is there on a difficult track and the long race tomorrow (with a lot of strategy in play) will give Espargaró the chance to exploit all the hard work done during the practice sessions.

    Saturday was not quite as happy for Maverick, who had been a protagonist until today here in Buriram. Both in qualifying and in the Sprint Race, the Aprilia rider was unable to find the good feeling from the other sessions. After starting from the third row, he had to reckon with the start height-device system failing to disengage, which relegated him to last place. In his attempt to recover, Viñales also exceeded track limits twice, forcing him to pay a long-lap penalty. The goal for tomorrow is to find those good sensations he had before and finish the weekend on a positive note.

    ALEIX
    "I’m proud of the work we are doing on this track. Remembering last year, when I arrived here I did not have any great expectations, but I must say that I am feeling good. In the final laps today, I wanted to try to battle with Marini for the podium, but I made a mistake that allowed Marc to catch up. It was an exciting final lap. I knew that he was going to have a go on the final turn and, even though I braked extremely hard, he managed to stay ahead of me. A lot more strategy will come into play in the race tomorrow, but with the harder compound at the rear I was fast so I’ll be trying for the podium again."

    MAVERICK
    "I am angry because in qualifying and in the Sprint Race, we were unable to maintain the level we had up until this morning. In the race, I went wide twice. The pace was lacking, and we need to find out what happened. Tomorrow, much will depend on the feeling I’m able to find."
