  1. Nick Crowe of NCR and Nick's long term sponsor Dave Hudspeth of Dave Hudspeth Carpets, have signed a deal for their 2015 Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy campaign. The 2 year deal includes current Eastern Airways F1 Sidecar Champions Sean Hegarty and James Neave as Driver and Passenger to the team.

The team will be running a 675 Triumph in the all-new HC Race developments chassis. Not only are they bringing another manufacturer into the growing Sidecar paddock but this will be slotted into a new brand of sidecar that is being developed by Nick himself, and built by ex. F1 guru Phil Wall who is also based on the Isle of Man. Mal Curnin of Yorkshire Engine Supplies has pledged his support to the quest, and joins the Team as one of the main sponsors.

Sean has not competed on the Isle for the last 19 years so both he and passenger James are looking to spend as much time as their 2015 race schedule allows ahead of the 2015 meeting doing 'the laps' of the Mountain circuit, under the expert guidance of lap record holder Nick Crowe. With the deal confirmed, the team will look to be ready for testing and shaking the bike down early in the New Year before the main event.

Commenting on the 2015 plans, Nick Crowe said:

"British Champions on a Manx chassis built with the input of the current TT lap record holder, then put a British Engine in the mix and you get,...Awesome - both for the TT and even more so for the Sidecar class. This year will be all about stretching theirs and the bikes legs, so the pressure is clearly off the pairing. The team would be over the moon with if they can secure a top ten finish in the first year. Sean will be more than happy with that as, in 1996, despite running in a strong 6th as a newcomer, he is yet to see the chequered flag as mechanical failure resulted in DNF's in both races that year."

  2. A series of six limited edition prints of some of the most iconic moments in motorsport will go on sale this month; the prints, taken from paintings by motorsport artist Michael Turner, have been specifically commissioned by John Surtees to depict highlights from his remarkable racing career.

Only 50 copies of each of the six prints have been produced, all of which are numbered and hand signed by John Surtees and Michael Turner.

Also commissioned are 20 exclusive canvas prints from a painting by Graham Turner, featuring the 1964 Formula 1 Championship win.  All prints will go on sale to commemorate the 50th anniversary of John Surtees’ World Championship title.

2014 has been a busy year for racer John Surtees; it’s the 50th anniversary of his Formula One World Championship with Ferrari, and achieving the unique double, unmatched to this day, of World Championships on both 2 and 4 wheels.  It is also his 80th Birthday.

Looking back at his career, it has been unmatched. Between 1956 and 1960, Surtees won seven World Championships and six Isle of Man TTs on 350cc and 500cc MV Agusta motorcycles.

In his last year in motorcycling in 1960 he won two World Championships but also started racing on four wheels finishing second in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in Formula One and setting pole position and fastest lap in the Portuguese Grand Prix of that year.

Joining Ferrari in 1963 after winning the Nürburgring and Monza 1000km races in Enzo’s sports cars, he took the Formula One World Championship in 1964 in a Ferrari 158.

John Surtees said “Obviously a motorsport World Championship for any rider or driver only comes about after the creation of a special relationship team, and most importantly machine Michael and Graham Turner have captured some of the special moments in my career of which I have fond memories which we would like to share with you.”

The prints have been commissioned on behalf of the Henry Surtees Foundation formed by John after the death of his son Henry in a freak accident at Brands Hatch in 2009.  All proceeds will go to the charity, details of which can be found on its website

  5. Dainese and Peugeot Scooters have signed an important partnership to strengthen motorcycling safety. At the EICMA show, in Milan 4-7 November, the two brands will display a Metropolis D-air on the Peugeot stand. The model features after-market D-air Street equipment, which is Dainese’s state-of-the art airbag technology designed to protect motorbike and scooter riders.

As one of the most advanced three-wheeled scooters on the market, the Peugeot Metropolis already offers excellent safety characteristics. Combine this with Dainese’s wireless D-air Street bag and the safety level increases dramatically. The system operates in just 45 milliseconds thanks to an algorithm that identifies and recognises potential accident situations.

Peugeot Scooters had no hesitation in opting for the Dainese D-air Street system - a system that has passed the strict certification tests set by TUV Sud, the German certification body and that obtained five stars from the French certification body SRA (Sécurité et Réparation Automobile).

Eric Mougin, Marketing and Style Director for Peugeot Scooters, declared:

I am very glad to announce at ECIMA 2014 the launch of the partnership between Dainese and Peugeot Scooter. Our two brands are enhancing common values and sharing similar positioning in term of excellence and high-end technology. Peugeot Metropolis D-air is the perfect combination to answer to the high expectations of our premium customers regarding safety.

Stefano Grasselli, Sales Director for the Dainese D-air product line added:

We are delighted with this collaboration with Peugeot Scooters that has come to fruition at the Eicma event. Both our companies are extremely aware of issues regarding safety. For us, this is the first step in an even broader partnership with Peugeot Scooters who are the class leaders on the European market.
