  1. Steve and his thumb @ The Manchester Bike Show 2014

We were delighted that Steve and Sam Henshaw passed by our stand @ The Manchester Bike Show 2014... even with his injured thumb!

Steve Henshaw and his thumb @ The Manchester Bike Show 2014

Steve was nominated for a VIP ticket by Sam as below

"I would like to nominate my other half Steve Henshaw for all his good work with Roughleys Bike Show. As you may know the leukaemia returned last year with a vengeance!

He knew he would need a transplant in Sept 2013 but all his blood counts etc were getting very low. He continued to work on the show organisation despite feeling pretty rough. Then disaster struck - a couple of weeks before the show day he got a really bad infection and was taken into Christies. We didn't know if he would get out in time for the show so he organised mates to stand in for him just in case. He carried on doing show stuff from his bed and got out a day before the show.

He made the show day even though he really shouldn't have been there and I had to keep chasing him to make him sit down or go home and rest. He had a successful stem cell transplant a couple of weeks after the show. He really is my VIP and my star xxxx"

  2. An amazing weekend @ Manchester Bike Show 2014

We were overwhelmed with the response of many of our visitors who passed by (some even queued up) to tell us how much they use and love the website, with tales of places they have visited and stayed at because of THE BIKER GUIDE...

We gave away over 2,000 booklets, 100's of cards, lots of stickers to people who 'asked nicely' (and a few cheeky ones), 100+ lollies to the children (of all ages) and would especially like to thank all the competitions winners who came to say thank you and even brought gifts of fudge, coffee and cake!

photo 2A special mention to Gary & Wendy Seddon, Steve & Sam Henshaw, Graham & Zoe Leonard, Theresa Bailey, Joanne Rigby, Dave Nixon and Ria Burnett, Rainy City for the poshest stand, Goldwing Misfits for the most lights on a stand, 1Jac for the best demo of the show, Chunky Tread Motorcycle Adventure Club for the most innovative signs, City of Leather London Ltd, Whistlestop MCC, NABD, Kettle Club, Gawsworth Jesters, Screaminkiwi, SK-Art Photography, Trike Funerals UK - (we like you, but don't really want you), Irving Sweets and to the organisers (Andrew Greenwood and Mellissa Houlding) of this great event which just get better each year!

We are looking forward to seeing so many of our visitors in the flesh (so to speak).

This year we have great free to enter competitions for a weekend for two @ The Guest House in Abergavenny, Wales, Perth to Perth dvd's and tickets to Stormin' the Castle.
