  3. Manchester Bike Show - What's On

    Posted on

There's not long to go until the Manchester Bike Show. Find out about some of the exhibitors below.

    THE TRIKE GUY
Visit The Trike Guy on stand 168. Based in Ashton Under Lyne in Greater Manchester they are specialist importers of pre-owned, German built trikes and an Official rewaco Main Dealer. Through their extensive network of suppliers, they can get your dream trike hassle free and at a price you'll be more than happy with.

    BIKESAFE

BikeSafe, a police-led initiative that runs across the country, will be returning to the Manchester Bike Show. Visit them on site no. C5.

BikeSafe deliver educational workshops aimed at motorcyclists who are looking to improve their riding safety. They look at the system of motorcycle control, hazard perception and the main causations of motorcycle collisions, focusing on “what if” type scenarios and options available to us as riders so we can keep ourselves safe.

Workshops are typically one day long (some are spread over two days). The first half of the workshop is theory based, the second half centres on an observed ride out on a 1-1 or 1-2 basis, during which police officers or police volunteers will observe your riding and offer structured feedback. They also signpost riders to post-test training which will hopefully plug skill gaps and improve rider safety. Some forces also offer bridging the gap weekend workshops, which include a second day, led by the Institute of Advanced Motorists.

The 2019 show will feature major manufacturers and over 100 trade exhibitors, so be sure to check out the full exhibitor list.

  4. THE CLASSIC DIRT BIKE SHOW SPONSORED BY HAGON SHOCKS KICK-STARTS THE OFF-ROAD SEASON

    Posted on

THOUSANDS of visitors descended on the Telford International Centre for the Classic Dirt Bike Show last weekend, admiring the fantastic bikes on display and picking up one-off parts for their next off-road project.

The show was packed with off-road machines, private restorations and an array of clubs, with the outdoor autojumble overflowing with bargains. Legendary off-road stars Dougie Lampkin and John Banks attracted crowds as they were interviewed by Jack Burnicle about their adventures and quizzed about the highs and lows of their careers.

The winner of the Best in Show was an immaculate 1969 Bultaco Matador 250cc exhibited by Dave Wood, who also took home the Best Enduro prize.

Event planner Nick Mowbray said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the turnout of the show. The event was a sell-out for trade, clubs and private entries and was enjoyed by thousands of like-minded off-road enthusiasts over the weekend. The show is getting bigger and better each year and we cannot wait to see what 2020 brings.”

Tony Hutchison, from sponsor Hagon Shocks, said: “Wonderful show, with a great atmosphere and incredible bikes which generated lots of interest. It is always great to catch up with old customers and fantastic to meet new ones. We are already looking forward to the 2020 show.”

Save the date for next year’s Classic Dirt Bike Show – February 15-16, 2020. The next event in the Classic Bike Shows calendar is The Carole Nash Bristol Classic MotorCycle Show this weekend, February 23-24, held at the Royal Bath & West Showground.
