  1. SHARK Helmets to present its 2018 collection at Motorcycle Live

    After many months of extensive development, SHARK Helmets is pleased to present its brand new collection for 2018. Designed with the unrivalled expertise of the French brand, the new range once again uses innovation and aesthetics to enhance performance, style and safety.

    The full collection will be on display at the SHARK Helmets stand at Motorcycle Live, at The NEC, Birmingham from 18-26 November 2017. This will include six new models:
     
    SKWAL 2
    VARIAL 
    ATV-DRAK 
    EVO-ONE 2
    S-DRAK
    X-DRAK 
     
    Pulse Division

    The Pulse Division spearheads SHARK Helmets’ line of best-sellers including the SPARTAN, SKWAL and D-SKWAL. 2018 will see the introduction of the new SKWAL 2, with an injected shell, and completely reconfigured and restyled with a new "aggressive" design, a new LED system with even more powerful lighting and optimised aerodynamics. The SKWAL 2 will be available in four plain and 23 colour graphic options, including replica designs based on those of the internationally-renowned, professional stunt team Switch Riders.
     
    Also new in the Pulse range will be:
    Four new colour schemes on the SPARTAN CARBON, plus two Guintoli replicas.
    Four new colour schemes on the SPARTAN, plus two Lorenzo White Shark replicas and a Redding replica.
    Three new colour schemes on the D-SKWAL, plus two Sam Lowes replicas and two Carl Fogarty replicas.
    One new colour scheme on the VANCORE.
    Four new colour schemes on the RIDILL.

    Discovery Division

    The Discovery Division offers optimal comfort and safety in a practical and changeable line and includes the popular EVOLINE series.
     
    New for 2018 is the EVO-ONE 2, a revised version of its celebrated EVO-ONE model that once again lays claim to the title of market leader in the modular segment. It includes a new chin guard locking/unlocking system for greater ergonomics and flexibility when in use, a stronger closing system and a revamped dark chrome finish.  
     
    EVO-ONE 2: RRPs range from £349.99 to £369.99. Available in XS to XL.
     
     
    Off-Road Division

    SHARK Helmets has introduced a new Off-Road division, dedicated to outdoor activities, sporting pursuits and competition and including two new helmets.
     
    The new VARIAL is a sporting helmet with a purist design aimed at motocross riders. Made of composite fiber, easy to maintain, this model comes in three shell sizes to adapt to any head shape and is equipped with an optimized ventilation system. It comes in two plain and five graphics colour options.
     
    The new ATV-DRAK is the first helmet in the world designed to protect while meeting the specific requirements of ATV (All Terrain Vehicle - quad and motorcycle) users. Safe, robust, fully ventilated, incredibly simple to maintain, the ATV-DRAK is available with four optional packs to accommodate all conditions (sunshield, mask and internal visor, noise protection, insect protection kit). It comes in six plain colours.
     
    The popular and versatile EXPLORE-R adventure helmet will also fall into the Off-Road division.

    Metro Division

    The Metro Division features helmets that are in sync with current trends, using next-generation technology with unique material compositions. The iconic DRAK model has already received cult status and now SHARK Helmets is introducing two new versions to the family, both inspired by neo-retro culture.
     
    The S-DRAK boasts a carbon skin shell, an internal visor, an edgy mask, a streamlined look, an unconventional style and the highest-quality finishes, all of which will win over even the hardest to please. It is available in eight colour options.
     
    The X-DRAK, made of composite fiber, is the perfect cross-over model. Built to be multifunctional, this model satisfies users' needs among scramblers and trail riders. It is available in two shell sizes and eleven colour options. The box will contain a mask and peak, which can be fitted to the helmet. 
     
    The original DRAK will be available in five new colour schemes for 2018, while the SHARK NANO gets three new colours.

    Racing Division 

    SHARK Helmets has long supported top-level racers and no fewer than four MotoGP riders sported the iconic RACE-R PRO this season, namely Jorge Lorenzo, Sam Lowes, Scott Redding, and Johann Zarco, whose debut in the category has been nothing short of stellar.
     
    The 2018 SHARK Helmets collection will include a range of replicas based on the helmet designs of these legendary racers, as well as two new colour options each on the RACE-R PRO and RACE-R PRO CARBON.
     
    RACE-R PRO: RRPs range from £389.99 to £479.99. Sizes range from XS to XL
    RACE-R PRO CARBON: RRPs range from £589.99 to £599.99. Sizes range from XS to XL

  3. Remembrance Sunday - A Ride of Respect making a Ring of Red around Manchester to form a virtual poppy

    For the fourth successive year, more than one thousand motorcycle riders, all wearing something red, will assemble at the west bound Birch services on the M62 on Remembrance Sunday, 12th November 2017. Ring of Red around the M60 - Remembrance Sunday

    Departing at 1pm to make a ‘Ride of Respect’ completing a ‘Ring of Red’ clockwise around the M60 motorway and raising lots of money for Veterans’ charities. When viewed from the air the ‘Ring of Red’ will resemble a massive poppy around Manchester.

    Bike Marshals North West will be overseeing the ride in conjunction with the Highways Agency and Greater Manchester Police

    This ride is to raise money for Veterans' charities, with riders wearing something red, to form a 'virtual' red poppy around Manchester.

  4. VMCC 1000 Bike Festival Returns in 2018

    THE 2018 VMCC FESTIVAL OF 1000 BIKES, THE TOP UK TRACK WEEKEND!

    Following repeated requests from members and the motorcycling fraternity the VMCC are pleased to announce the return of one of the best motorcycling events in Europe. Discussions with our colleagues at Real Motorsport will see the VMCC festival of 1000 Bikes combined with the Mallory Bonanza returning to Mallory Park on the weekend of 6th/7th/8th July 2018.
     
    The event is returning with exactly the same format as before giving enthusiasts the opportunity to ride their own machines in multiple track sessions over the weekend. Catering for all classes of machines from the earliest Veterans through to the machines of the super bike era this is a truly inclusive event which reflects the wide range of interests within the VMCC. With lesser noise restrictions on Sunday the Festival will again allow for riders to display their racing machinery in special track sessions running throughout the day.
     
    Still the same great Festival covering all aspects of Classic Motorcycling the event will again feature-
    Public Road Track Sessions (Saturday)
    Race Bike Track Sessions (Sunday)
    Pre 65 Trials
    Historic Grass Track
    Ave of Clubs (50 Clubs in attendance in 2008)
    Trade Stands/Auto jumble
    Bar Marquee open all day with panoramic view of Stebbe straight
    Live bands on stage starting Fri 10th July.
     
    More details will be released over the coming weeks. However as the Track sessions for both road and race machines sold out in all the previous years the Club will have entry forms available to be downloaded from the web site in December or contact VMCC HQ direct or via the event dedicated website at www.vmcc.net

  5. Motorcycle Live announces Ace Builds custom showcase finalists

    The organisers of the UK’s biggest bike show, Motorcycle Live, have announced the finalists in its Ace Builds custom showcase competition. The four machines will go on display at Motorcycle Live at The NEC, Birmingham from 18-26 November, where show visitors will be able to vote for the ‘Ultimate Ace Build’. Motorcycle Live announces Ace Builds custom showcase finalists  

    The initial entries to the competition were whittled down to just 14 shortlisted machines by an expert panel consisting of Motorcycle News deputy editor Richard Newland, Built magazine and Classic Bike editor Gary Pinchin and Bike Shed founder Anthony “Dutch” van Someren. The decision was then handed over to the public, who have been voting via the Ace Builds website over the last two weeks, to decide the four most popular bikes.

    The finalists are:

    - A Kawasaki KH500 named “KH Five” built by Pip Davidson 
    - A Yamaha XS650 named “Eleanor” built by Luke Cormack 
    - A Ducati 900 Tracker built by Ali Latimer 
    - A Yamaha XV750 Virago named “Café Racer PP2” built by Phil Price 

    All four finalists will each receive four tickets to Motorcycle Live and £200 of Motolegends vouchers, plus of course, the chance to have their bike on display by the Black Horse Stage in the Eurosport Entertainment Zone at the heart of Motorcycle Live.

    The ‘Ultimate Ace Build’ will be decided by Motorcycle Live visitors, who will be able to vote for their favourite of the four finalists throughout the show. The owner of the winning machine will be awarded £1000 of Motolegends vouchers and the chance for their bike to feature in a Motolegends catalogue.

    Advance tickets for Motorcycle Live are on sale now, priced at just £19.50 per adult, £12 for Seniors, £1 for 11-16 year olds* and FREE for children aged ten and under (accompanied by a paying adult). There is also a £25 advance ticket, which includes entry to the show and a Spada Gonzo bag worth £29.99**.
