1. BARN-FIND OF VETERAN, VINTAGE & CLASSIC MOTORCYCLES TO BE AUCTIONED

   Bury St Edmunds based auctioneers, Lacy Scott & Knight, will be selling a collection of six barn-find motorcycles by auction on 12th June.

   The collection was discovered during a probate valuation in deepest Norfolk, alongside various classic cars to include an Alvis and a Morgan.

   The earliest of the bikes is a 1915 Norton Model 1 Big Four 6, which very much appears to be in good original ‘barn-find’ condition, and carries a pre-sale estimate of £7,000-10,000. Other bikes by Norton include a 1952 88 Dominator which is also complete and in good largely original condition. This bike probably once had a side-car and was originally sold by Colchester Specialists GBR Motors Ltd, it carries a pre-sale of £3,000-5,000. Another Norton featured is a 1957 Overhead Cam International Model 30, being largely complete and original but for recommissioning. This model was the first overhead camshaft from Norton, and was designed by Walter Moore and successfully used in the 1927 TT. Expectations for this bike are in the region of £7,000-9,000. The auction also includes a Norton 350cc Café Racer International, which appears complete but is for recommissioning.

   Possibly the most valuable of the entries is a 1937 Velocette KSS 350cc; this being a fine example which was restored a few years ago and carries hopes of £8,000-12,000. The out-buildings also revealed a 1960 Excelsior 98cc Consort, and various motorcycle parts to include a 1948 BSA C11 complete restoration project.

   KICKBACK is on Sunday 23rd May inside and around the wonderful Cheltenham Town Hall.

   This is a great opportunity for some of the UK's finest bike builders to show us what they have been building in their sheds over lockdown. It's also a fabulous chance for visitors to jump on their bikes and blast through the Cotswolds into Cheltenham for a great day out with their mates.

   The whole show takes place inside and around the wonderful Town Hall and the stunning Imperial Gardens, there is a licensed bar and cafe inside the Hall and outside in the gardens!

   Due to Covid protocols we can only have half capacity in the hall at any one time so we have introduced a morning session and an afternoon session. It's an all ticket event with limited numbers.

3. STRATFORD AUTOJUMBLE WELCOMES BACK RH INSURANCE SPONSORSHIP FOR 2021!

   The autojumble launched in 2019, was a true success and after a hiatus for 2020 due to the pandemic, Stratford Autojumbles are delighted to announce that they have secured sponsorship with RH Insurance again for 2021.

   Both events will be making their return to Stratford-upon-Avon racecourse on June 13 and September 5 and are anticipated to build further upon their success achieved in their debut year in 2019.

4. OFF-ROAD WORLD CHAMPION LAMPKIN JOINS KING OF THE ROAD MCCALLEN AT STAFFORD SUMMER SHOW

   TWELVE times world trials champion Dougie Lampkin MBE will appear alongside TT legend Phillip McCallen as guest of honour at the upcoming International Classic MotorCycle Show at Stafford County Showground on July 3-4.

   Fans at the event will hear stories throughout the weekend from Dougie about being a member of the famous Lampkin clan, who have been a household name since the 1960s with their appearances on Saturday afternoons’ TV Grandstand Trophy.

   Winning his very first trial at just nine years old, Dougie rapidly progressed to the British and world trials scenes with the help of his father and mentor, Martin.

   The Lampkins became known for their entertaining banter and not only did the crowds flock to see Dougie’s talented riding, but to hear Mart barking instructions for his line of attack along each section!

   Doug won his first world round at Houghton Towers in 1994 when he won his first British title and finished sixth in the world title chase at his first attempt. In the same year he won the Scottish Six Days Trial for the first time and has since accumulated another 11 Scottish wins.

   To date he has accumulated an incredible 20 crowns, including two Spanish and six UK titles. Although still competing in the Scottish, Doug rarely rides trials and is now a Red Bull athlete, giving displays of track riding all over the world. He is a regular at the Goodwood Festival, where he memorably rode up Lord March’s bannister and over his roof. His Isle of Man ride round the 37-mile circuit on his rear wheel stood out as one of his greatest achievements.

   Doug will appear on stage throughout the weekend for live interviews and signing opportunities and will make an appearance in the trials area too alongside the much-loved Owd Codgers club.

5. Motorcycle Man Documentary

   The British Motorcyclists Federation is delighted to announce that an exclusive virtual screening of the documentary Motorcycle Man will be available from May 6-9 2021.
   Following the story of Dave Roper, the legend in his own lifetime who won the Isle of Man TT in 1984, Motorcycle Man looks at his life, times, career and thoughts on a life spent on two wheels.
   
   The 32-minute documentary has won a string of awards on the festival circuit and this will be the first time it has ever been screened in the UK. Better yet, the screening will also include a live Q&A session on the evening of May 9 with Roper himself and director Daniel Lovering.
