From humble beginnings on a five-dollar dirt bike to global racing fame, Wayne’s story is a good one! Join him, TT star and best mate Roger Marshall alongside compère BSB Champ and TV pundit Steve Plater for an inside look at the highs and lows of life on the track.
2. Dive into Club Displays
Explore our superb club stands showcasing everything from Bantam’s to Vespa’s. Whether it’s a gleaming restored classic or a project still in progress, each bike tells a story!
3. Discover Scooter World
One of the few shows in the UK to spotlight both motorcycles and scooters, this event takes Scooter World to the next level. From custom creations to timeless classics, there’s something for everyone.
4. Awesome Autojumble
Not to be confused with the monthly ‘Normous Newark Autojumbles we also run at the showground, the autojumble at the Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic can be found everywhere, with stalls inside the main hall, outside and in the additional halls too. Hundreds of traders pitch up at the show with a vast range of autojumble for visitors to browse -enjoy!
5. Turn up for the Firing-up!
Relive the glory days of motorcycling in the Stanley Sheldon Hall. The firing-up area brings engines roaring back to life, filling the air with the sights, sounds, and smells of classic machines in action – this is one not to be missed!

Alex George, a three-time TT winner, is best known for his legendary Isle of Man TT victories, where his skill and determination made him a household name among fans of road racing. Joining him is Chas Mortimer, a versatile racer whose career boasts 7 Grand Prix wins and the distinction of being the only rider to have won races in all solo classes at the Isle of Man TT. These legends will be at the show all weekend where you can catch them on-stage reliving their most memorable highlights of their illustrious racing career.

- Under the hammer at the Dore & Rees auction
Renowned auctioneers Dore & Rees return to Bristol, bringing with them an exceptional line-up of classic and vintage motorcycles. Known for their world-class auctions held in iconic locations, this is your chance to bid on some truly remarkable machines. Whether you’re a seasoned buyer or a curious spectator, the auction is an unmissable highlight.

The high-octane event features everything from classic motorcycles to hotly contested road-going classes, all taking on the narrow, fast and challenging 1000-yard course. Be sure to stick around and watch the thrilling end-of-day run-offs as the fastest 10 riders go head-to-head for overall honours.

Motorcycle enthusiasts hold on to your seats… World 500CC Champion, the one and only, Wayne Gardner is set to take centre stage at the Classic Bike Guide Winter Classic show, taking place at Newark Showground on January 11-12, 2025.
Wayne – otherwise known as the ‘Wollongong Whizzkid’ – went from a fresh-faced boy riding around his hometown on a five-dollar dirt bike to becoming the 1987 World Motorcycle Grand Prix Champion, and a national icon. Join us and hear all his amazing career highlights as he joins Steve Plater on stage and at the fantastic fire up area where you can hear legendary bikes roar to life.
Classic Bike Shows Exhibitions manager Nick Mowbray said: “We are excited to announce Wayne Gardner as our star guest for the show in January. Having a legend like Wayne is a fantastic way to kick off the new year, and we know our visitors will be blown away by this iconic rider.”

Motorcycles, music and memory making at Motorcycle Live 2024

- Motorcycle Live 2024 took place between 16-24 November at the NEC, Birmingham.
- Just under 90,000 attendees enjoyed the nine-day show.
- The Festival Zone and other brand new features were incredibly well received by visitors.

Doors closed to MCL24 yesterday, after an extraordinary nine days packed with entertainment, innovation and unforgettable experiences for the thousands of visitors who attended.
From thrilling new model launches, to exciting opportunities to take to two wheels, MCL24 delivered an experience like no other. Brand-new features launched at the show captivated attendees and provided a full day of immersive entertainment that extended beyond the world-famous motorcycle brands on display.
The Expert Lab, hosted by Grace Webb, provided insightful conversations with engineers, product managers, adventurers and celebrities, while The Machine Shop offered hands-on sessions covering essential bike maintenance, demystifying topics such as suspension settings.
Over 1,500 visitors put in a time on the BSB RiDE Sim Racing Challenge, supported by the British Superbike Championship - joining the likes of BSB stars Glenn Irwin, Peter Hickman and Kyle Ryde who also raced.
Brand-new for 2024, the Festival Zone and revamped Black Horse Stage wowed audiences with adrenaline-pumping performances by stunt riders across several disciplines, including Trials, Street and Freestyle Motocross. Hosted by Matt Crowhurst and James Whitham, the stage offered fans the chance to get up close and personal with racers and riding celebrities - including 2024 World Superbike Champion, Toprak RazgatlıoÄlu.
Over 300 students from 11 colleges and universities enjoyed two focussed career days at the show designed to inspire the next generation of riders and industry professionals. These days showcased the exciting opportunities available, and early feedback from those who attended is positive.
The final weekend of the show hosted the first-ever MCL Saturday Night Festival, featuring performances by Rick Parfitt Jnr and the RPJ Band, The Fuel Girls, and DJ Rosie. More than 1200 guests stayed after hours and danced the night away, bringing MCL24 to a sensational close.
