    · Available from £109 per month on Ducati TriOptions Finance

    · Major service intervals of 18,000 miles

    · Class leading electronics and componentry

    · Restricted A2 licence version will be available

Following the successful unveiling of the new generation Monster 1200, Ducati now introduces the Monster 821, a mid-size version of the exciting new model and the latest entry to the world of Monster.

More than two decades on from the Monster’s first unveiling, Ducati presents the iconic model’s latest generation middleweight, the 2015 Monster 821. Maintaining the stylish character made famous by the original concept, the model sports the same new chassis and muscular styling as the Monster 1200 and is designed with premium components and fully integrated with Ducati’s latest technologies.

Powered by the latest edition of Ducati’s immensely successful 821 Testastretta 11° engine, the accessible new Monster combines 112hp and 65.9ft-lb of torque with an impressively lightweight 179.5kg (395.7lb) (Dry weight) overall package. Super comfortable and with an innovative adjustable seat height, the model also combines class-leading electronics that include 8-level traction control, 3-level ABS and 3-level Ride-by-Wire into Ducati’s user-friendly, press-button Riding Modes.

The Monster 821 features premium componentry that include high-spec brakes with twin radially-mounted Brembo monobloc M4-32 calipers, gripping 320mm discs, excellent suspension from Kabaya (43mm forks) and Sachs (rear) and stylish 10-spoke Panigale-style light alloy wheels. Merged with Ducati’s best-yet ergonomics, the Italian manufacturer offers the most attractive mid-range Monster ever. The 2015 Monster 821 uses next generation technologies to create an enhanced rider/motorcycle relationship, delivering a high-adrenaline experience while constantly reassuring with the feeling of complete control and ergonomic integration.

Available at Ducati Dealerships now, the Monster 821 Dark is presented in a dark stealth colour with black frame and black wheels. The Dark is priced at £8,795 and is also available on Ducati TriOptions Finance from £109* per month. The Monster 821 comes in Ducati red with red frame and black wheels or star white silk with red frame and matte red wheels. Both red and white liveries are equipped with colour-matched single-seat covers. The Monster 821 is priced at £8,995 and is also available on Ducati TriOptions Finance from £109* per month.

The new Monster’s Testastretta 11° engine underlines another milestone in Ducati’s constant investment in quality by enabling the distance between major service intervals (valve clearance check) to be set at an owner-friendly 30,000 kilometres (18,000 miles).

The brand new model is also made available to restricted license holders with a specially regulated power version of 35kw and eligible under the A2 licence category.

*Based on a deposit of 25% and a period of 37 months – full finance details on this model can be found here

  3. Get an extra £1000 for your old bike when buying a new 1190

    Posted on

    - Extra £1000 trade-in discount towards an 1190 Adventure
    - 1190 Adventure is the most sophisticated travel enduro available
    - Now with MSC ‘cornering ABS’ for 2014
    - Fantastic finance options available

There’s never been a better time to start a new adventure as KTM UK is offering riders an additional £1000 discount when trading in their old machine towards a brand new 1190 Adventure or 1190 Adventure R.

The ‘Adventure Trade-In Promotion’, run in conjunction with a wide range of finance offers, begins with immediate effect at all KTM Street dealers in the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands and is eligible to riders who have owned their planned trade-in bike for six months or more.

In 2013, KTM once again pushed the travel enduro segment to new levels of performance, comfort and technology when it launched a new Adventure generation. Starting with the RC8 R engine and developed from scratch, the 1190 Adventure and Adventure R (both £13,799 on the road) are aimed at riders who want an adventure from every ride but with the added benefit of ultra high-specification components and the most sophisticated electronic rider assistance systems available to motorcyclists to date.

Adventure riders are offered unparalleled levels of personalisation, comfort and safety through the bike’s various ride modes. These include the multi-stage combined antilock braking system C-ABS, the motorcycle traction control (MTC - also multi-staged), the push-of-a-button adjustable electronic damping system (EDS) suspension and the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

For 2014, the 150hp 1190 Adventure and 1190 Adventure R became the world’s first motorcycles to offer an ABS that stays fully functional even while cornering. This becomes possible through the stability control MSC (Motorcycle Stability Control) developed in close cooperation with Bosch; controlling the antilock system and traction control while taking real-time dive and yaw angles into account, thereby enabling optimum braking and acceleration while leaned over, to the fullest extent that the dynamic physical limits allow.

A large array of official KTM PowerParts are also available for riders to enhance, tune or simply tailor the specification of a bike to the exact requirements of whatever the adventure that lies ahead.

  5. SUNDERLAND SIGNS TO RACE FOR RED BULL KTM FACTORY RALLY TEAM

    Posted on

KTM is excited to announce that Dakar’s hottest future prospect Sam Sunderland has signed to race for the Red Bull KTM Factory Rally Team for the next three and a half years.

Sunderland, a 24-year-old former motocrosser turned rally racer, is pleased to be joining the factory squad in a bid to unlock his Dakar potential with the ultra-competitive crew that has won the last 13 editions of the notorious rally.

British-ace Sunderland has enjoyed both success and disaster following his Dakar debut in 2012 at just 22 years of age, with competitive results on the days he’s completed during the rally. Sunderland has also achieved success in the British youth championships, UAE MX2 & MX1 Championship titles, UAE National Baja Championship titles in 2010/2011, an Abu Dhabi Desert challenge podium in 2012, a Merzouga Rally win in 2013 plus a stage win in this year’s Dakar event before retiring from the race.

With KTM’s Dakar know-how and Sunderland’s motivation it is hoped that he will develop into one of the future greats of the sport as he gains experience with the factory squad amongst more established riders. His main goal for year one will be to complete the rally in the top five with consistent results throughout the stages, and he’s particularly excited about working with Marc Coma, who enjoyed his fourth Dakar victory last month.

Dubai-based Sunderland, who is the first British rider for 15-years to win a Dakar stage, will race the all-new 450 Factory rally machine that made its debut in 2014. The youngster will contest some rounds of the Cross-Country Rallies World Championship throughout this year as he builds his confidence and speed ahead of the 2015 Dakar race.

Sam Sunderland: “I’m really excited for this new chapter in my career and very grateful for the opportunity from KTM. It’s going to be great to work with the huge experience of the team and I hope I can prove myself with good results to return the confidence they’ve put into me. The team has won for 13 years in a row and it’s a huge opportunity for me to race with a team with that much experience. When I met the team I had a great feeling, like friends straight away, which is a huge part of the whole deal, because in the Dakar it’s stressful and tiring, so the relationships are important to be able to work together in the toughest times. The bike is proven; I’ve not ridden it yet, but I’m really excited and looking forward to that. It looks great and with first and second this year it’s obviously great for the job. I am working really hard with my training right now and I can’t wait to get started.”

Pit Beirer: KTM’s Head of Motorsports “It’s definitely a big pleasure that we are able to bring Sam over to KTM, thanks to the friendly relationship we have had with him through Kini and myself. We’ve been following his riding over the last few years and he’s a young, talented rider with great skills. I’m sure if we combine this with the strength of our team and the training opportunities with Marc, he will make our package stronger for the future. As Sam is still very young it’s now our job to keep him calm; it’s not that we expect results straight away, but we will give him time to learn the secrets of the desert. He’s a proven stage winner, he has the skill and speed, but I don’t want to put him under pressure. The key is to put him with our experienced riders and he will learn and help them. In my opinion he is already maybe podium contender, but for us it’s not about the results today or tomorrow, it’s about building a good, competitive long-term Dakar future.”   Sunderland will begin racing a KTM motocross machine today at a local event and is expected to make his rally race debut with KTM at round one of the Cross Country Rallies World Championship at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge in April.
