  1. Today’s press release is first and foremost dedicated to Mike Trimby, who passed away last night. Here are Nadia Padovani’s words…

“The departure of Mike Trimby leaves a huge void in the championship and in our hearts. As the founder and president of IRTA, Mike was key in the growth and development of our championship. If we have reached the current organisational and professional levels is without a doubt thanks to Mike’s efforts and passion. Speaking for the whole Gresini Racing, we’d like to extend the most heartfelt condolences to Irene and all the guys at IRTA.”

  2. ON THE OCCASION OF ITS 90TH ANNIVERSARY, THE BRIANZA-BASED COMPANY CONFIRMS A HISTORIC PARTNERSHIP

In the year in which it celebrates its 90th anniversary, Dell'Orto S.p.A confirms its commitment alongside Aprilia Racing in the MotoGP World Championship. A collaboration that has distant origins and has its roots in the 125 and 250 categories, continuing in World Superbike with the multi-winner RSV4 and arriving in MotoGP in 2015.

In the top category of two-wheel prototypes, DELLORTO is the supplier of the throttle body used on the Aprilia V4 engine. A 1000cc unit capable of delivering more than 270 horsepower with a rotation speed well in excess of 17,000 rpm. All this while withstanding the tremendous stresses of modern MotoGP, a hyper-competitive championship in which Aprilia and DELLORTO together challenge the world's top competitors.

An all-Italian technological pairing, as confirmed by Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola: "The announcement of this renewal, a symbol of the strong technical and human bond between Aprilia and DELLORTO, comes on the occasion of a very significant birthday. 90 years of history, passion and innovation make DELLORTO an indispensable partner for us, with whom we will be proud to collaborate over the next two years... and beyond!".

"The technological level of the current MotoGP has reached incredible levels - the words of Romano Albesiano, Aprilia Racing Technical Director - Precisely for this reason having partners at your side who are able to contribute to the growth of the project becomes fundamental. With DELLORTO the symbiosis is total, our companies have innovation as their main focus and applying it to the fastest motorbikes in the world is both a commitment and confirmation of an aptitude for challenge".

Andrea Dell'Orto - Vice President Dell'Orto S.p.A.: "In racing, goals are everything. Crossing a finish line means having been reliable, having placed those who put their trust and dreams in us in the best possible conditions to reach their goal. To have been a partner of Aprilia for years and to know that we will be so for the next ones to come is for us a source of great pride".
