Yamaha V-Max: Flying Sledgehammer

Suzuki Hayabusa: Falcon Peregrine Falcon

We have included since the launch of the website in 2009, Biker Friendly Cafes, Places and meets, where the list is mainly put together from visitor recommendations, with the owners confirming the details are correct.

We want our visitors to know we have looked at every place included, to see if we would ride there, park up and go inside. This is based on experience of travelling a distance to visit a so-called Biker Friendly cafe as part of a group. The cafe did not have parking at the venue and was actually in a paid for car park out of sight of the cafe. Half of group would not leave their beloved Motorcycles - even for a much needed cuppa!

We are aware that while a place MAY be Biker Friendly, they may not want to promote themselves as being this way, so we ask owners to clarify before they are included. IF we feel a place does not have sufficient parking on-site and/or nearby, we may choose to not include a place.

Attention Owners - Due to the large amount of places we include on THE BIKER GUIDE and as inclusion is predominately free, we need the owners of places to confirm the information we have is correct, by simply sending their information (name, address and bike related) via the form for inclusion, where you can confirm you are the owner. 

During the Covid-19 pandemic we will continue to publish the website and all information previously included for Biker Friendly Cafes and Meets. Due to the large amount of cafes closed and/or with limted opening hours and constrictions, we ask you to check with the cafe before travel.

Show organisers for Motorcycle Live regretfully announced today that following an extensive and detailed consultation period, it has been agreed to postpone this year’s show until 2021 with concern for public safety and the wellbeing of industry colleagues being central to the decision. 

The following open letter has been issued from Managing Director of Motorcycle Live, Finlay McAllan:

“Motorcycle Live is all about audience interaction, meeting with friends, climbing onto all the latest machines and trying on the all latest gear. Many of us use it as an annual pilgrimage to meet with friends and family and enjoy a great day out together. And it’s not just the public who join us each day – we, alongside our industry colleagues - look forward to the event every year too. Therefore, as you can imagine, the decision to postpone this year’s show has not been taken lightly. Our concern for the safety of our visitors, exhibitors and industry colleagues is at the heart of this decision.

"As with any hard decision, we looked at it with a number of different perspectives and factored in various scenarios and restrictions that could be imposed. Running an event like Motorcycle Live under the COVID-19 related restrictions – such as adhering to social distancing requirements, restricting attendance numbers and dictating the direction of people around the hall – all ultimately would have impacted negatively on the experience of those attending and therefore the very essence of the show.

"The whole of the Motorcycle Live team is extremely disappointed – as we’re sure that you are too – but rest assured we will continue working behind the scenes to deliver you a fantastic show in 2021. In the meantime, stay safe and look after each other.”

The British Motor Museum is well known for its extensive and diverse range of motoring shows, gatherings and rallies that normally take place over the summer months. Unfortunately with the continuing COVID-19 restrictions, the Museum has had to make further changes to this year’s show programme. 

The intention of the Museum is, where possible, to postpone rather than cancel shows whilst consistently adhering to Government advice. The Museum is currently putting in place all the necessary measures and risk assessments to ensure that when it re-opens it has the safety of visitors and staff at the centre of everything it does. This information will all be available on its website prior to the Museum re-opening and any show taking place.

So subject to COVID restrictions, the Museum is currently still planning for the Old Ford Rally to take place on 19 July and the Yakushi Car Club Meet on the new date of 26 July. A final decision about both events will be made by 17 June and published on their website and social media channels. The Gaydon Land Rover Show which was scheduled to take place on 9 - 10 May, has been moved to 1 - 2 August. The Classic & Vintage Commercial Show has been postponed from 13 & 14 June to 8 & 9 August.

The National Metro & Mini Show and BMC & Leyland Show, which were planned for June and July will now take place on  6 September. Whilst the Retro Truck show is still scheduled for 12 & 13 September, Mogfest on 26 September, the Large Model Aircraft Show on 25 October and the Great British Model Railway Show on 7 & 8 November.

Unfortunately a few of the shows have been cancelled but will return in 2021. These include the UK Slot Car Festival which would have taken place on 16 & 17 May, Ford Nationals on 28 June, TR Drivers on 12July, the MGF 25^th Anniversary on 25 July, the Banbury Run on 16 August and the Buses Festival which was due to take place on 23 August. All the 2021 dates for these shows will be published on the Museums website as soon as they are confirmed.

Tom Caren, Show Manager at the British Motor Museum stated “It is disappointing to have to make further changes to our show programme but wewould like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support. We hope that many of our visitors will still be able to join us when we can safely deliver our first-class shows”.

Tickets for cancelled events will be refunded and processed over the next few weeks. For postponed events, all sold tickets will be valid for the new dates with refunds available on request.

The Virtual TT powered by Motul, in collaboration with TT Isle of Man, and as part of their TT Lock-In schedule.

The event will see eight TT racing heroes getting to grips with a new challenge, by tackling the familiar course from the comfort of their own homes via the newly released game, TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 2. Each professional rider has teamed up with an experienced gamer from around the world to complete one lap of the famous course on the game. The team’s aggregated lap time will be their leaderboard score as they go ‘head-to-head’ with the other teams to decide who will be crowned ‘Virtual TT 2020 Champions’!
